Low Carbohydrate Diet

So let's cut to the chase. Why diet at all?  Well in my case, I would be as big as a house.  I can only speak about myself but finding THE right diet has been illusive.  Until now.

I wish I had marked the day and time I actually started this but I didn't.  I will tell you that I have lost a total of 70 pounds.  Yes!  You read that right. SEVENTY POUNDS!

I'm not going to lie to you.  It has been hard.  It's been a struggle.  And yes, I cheated and fell off the wagon.  How much did I fall?  Well, I gained back about 15 pounds.

Before I get into the diet itself, I must convey two things to you so please listen.  This must be a life style change.  Period.

1. If you think that you can do this diet, shed a few pounds and go back to the old ways then you are dead wrong.  I have some very goods reasons why.  Your family loves you, needs you and wants you to stay around a long time.  Your health is important.  If you don't think it's important just ask your children, spouse, parents, close friends or even your work associates.

2. Look in the mirror.  Now look inward to yourself.  Were you always this big.  Everyone's body is different.  Think of your body as a special engine.  The food that goes into it gets processed and energy is expended.  No what about the unused energy?  Ohhhh...that becomes the fat.  I know you know all this but...  Your body now requires special fuel.  Think of this new fuel as a "Special Blend" just for you.

Low Carb Weight-Loss

When I say low I mean low.  If you can take your diet to 0 carbs then you will lose weight.  Trust me.  I know this for a fact because I try to do this everyday.  However, getting to zero for me is not realistic.  "Why?" You asked.  Carbs give me energy. 

Remember!
See your Doctor before doing this extreme diet.
Because this is an extreme diet.

Remember what I said about your body being an engine and you now need a special blend.  Well, here is my special blend.

  • My meats include - Chicken, Beef, Steak, and Hot Dog weenies.
  • My Salad includes - Lettuce, Bacon bits, Ham, Turkey, and Cheese.
  • My Desserts include - Ice cream, Pumpkin pie and a Cheese cake.
  • My Beverage has been - Water

That's what I have been eating for months now and I have lost weight.  Lot's of weight.

Am I stuck eating this and only this for the rest of my life?

Well, for me.  Yes.  And here is my problem.

If a person can overload on Carbohydrates then I did.  If it was Fast Food then I ate it.  If it had Bread in it then I ate it.

 Here's another twist.  I do not eat vegtables.  I cannot stand them.  I picked snaps from my Grandmother's garden along with other veggies and I did not like them.  Even though she grew them.  I was force feed them as a child.  Did I like them then?  No.

Granted.  I have eaten some casaroles that had veggies in them and they were great.  BUT. {you saw this coming didn't you?}  They had Carb stuff in them that made the difference for me.  So quite literally, I could choke them down with a smile.

Now for the Heros

George Stella.  Before him came Dr. Adkins.  But for me George is the man.  What I learned about Carbs came from him and his story is quite interesting.  I encourge you to read up about him.

Conclusion

Have I convinced you yet?  I truly hope so.  I believe I am worth it.  I believe you are worth it.  You and I owe it to our family and friends to stay around for a long time.  We can only do that if we change our eating habits.  Is this the end of the story for me and this website?

No.  I am going to share my own receipes and I will post my progress towards my goal of 250 pounds.  Today I am 310 pounds and I have lost a total of 60 lbs.  Had I not cheated I would be at 70 but will save that wagon fall for another web page.
